March Devlog (Lots of Progress, yet Not Enough)

Hey everybody, it's your favorite boyyyy. It's been a weird March. I was mostly sick and very tired, and yet did so much and so little all at once.

General Recap

Let me explain. So I got a part-time day job which has helped and hindered in some key ways. I love my little part-time job, it gives me a little spending money as well as some much-needed time outside of the house and away from my desk, which is very necessary for my general well-being compared to being unemployed/freelancing. It helps me in almost every way except creatively.

I intended to finish 10k of one script this month, but fell behind due to all energy being spent at my day job leaving not much else left. However, we've miraculously been able to make pretty decent progress on all projects at the moment.

Side note, I was also able to do something I never dreamed of doing, which was shipping out physical merchandise for my games this month! (If you're curious, check the Kofi link in the "Criminally Yours" section to see what I have in my shop ❣️It's insane to think anyone would not only download and enjoy my games, but go as far as to support and purchase keychains of my characters is so wild. Thank you so incredibly much for those who have!

Though March was a mixed bag of highs and lows in terms of productivity and mood, I fully intend for April to be a lot more productive on my end, regardless of what happens.

Here's what we were able to do for March, and what you can expect to happen in April regarding all of our current projects.

Rectifier: In Bloom and it's Update

Firstly, I want to make an announcement in regards to Rectifier, which, up until Criminally Yours had come out, was my biggest project and my main priority. However, March has really changed that, splitting my attention from it to focus on Criminally Yours a lot more recently. However, I took a little vacation from it and I am ready to come back to my baby.

The update is still coming along, March was focused on the actual writing of it, fixing what already exists as well as adding extra scenes to each route. I have finished mine, though I am sure I will continue to tweak as I go.

CG's are being worked on and planned to be added when they are finished. It's still a little slow and steady for the update atm, but as the months progress April/May will be a lot more busy on that front. So get hyped! I want to release the Update June 1st, and as things are, that is still very likely going to be the case.

Important Note: The current Rectifier: In Bloom page will be archived for the time being. I hate the page as well as how the current game is right now, so it's in my best interest to just get rid of it until it's updated in a couple of months. The game will still be playable, but only from the Google Drive link- here (and only for Windows, apologies for MAC/Linux users) outside of this link you will not be able to access the game again until it's updated in June.

Thank you for understanding.

The Prince's Keeper

So the Prince's Keeper is like 90% done! The game is fully coded minus a couple art assets, which has delayed us a little from our initial release timeframe; however, Grey and I want it to be released when it's convenient and not force the team in any way.

The Prince's Keeper in a sense was a project that almost never saw the light of day to begin with, so the fact that it's nearly done is insane to think about. It'll be well worth the wait and is in the early playtesting phases now. So if you're excited for it, I can confidently say it will be out sometime in April (not April Fool's Day prank promise.)

My Sweet Fairy!

My Sweet Fairy! On the other hand is coming along swimmingly, it should be set to release right on time with where we are, unfortunately I wasn't able to finish my part of the writing this month due to a sickness I can't seem to kick, but regardless I intend to finish in the first 2 weeks of April.

I did do some writing for it, but it's sort of all over the place, and I don't really feel like I've made any solid progress on that front, which is annoying because it's only 10k; I really need to get it together.

Here is some gorgeous art of the gorgeous love interest- Libby/Leif (you choose between the femme or masc version for your love interest, but they are the same character)

Starfallen: Strength

Strength is also still making good progress (minus the writing portion) however, I feel really good about the general development for Strength. It is still set to release sometime in June.

We got some updated character sprites, and I am very pleased with how they've come together. Shoutout to Pinachs for being the best person to work with gosh. The quality of their work never ceases to amaze me. I adore them all so much, it makes me crazy.

Excited to share more of the in-game when the time comes!

Criminally Yours

Let's start with Criminally Yours! It's been a little a month and 3 days since release, and it's been wild! I've been so humbled by the amount of love and support for this little game of mine. It's really helped motivate me and the team to work harder to make sure those who enjoyed it are still getting some steady content/updates.

We managed to update the first part with additional art and full voice acting within 2 weeks! Version 1.1 is the way Criminally Yours part 1 was always meant to be, and I am so happy with it and have adored seeing all the different reactions to it. Play it here and don't forget to leave it a rating if you do <3

If you want more Criminally Yours content, please consider checking out our Tumblr and the "Criminally Yours Community Discord Server". These are the  #1 places to see all things "Criminally Yours" and the amount of love and energy that can be found there has been a dream come true, truly.

Having fan art of Nik and the player's Oracles, as well as fanfiction (spicy fanfiction too ghsksjhhsd), and playlists, etc… has been insane. Having y'all say Criminally Yours has inspired you guys to get creative, or breaking your writer's/art block has genuinely been mindblowing. Thank every single one of you who have downloaded the game, rated it, and especially made any fan content for it! You are what makes this game so special to me.

Also, if you want to support the game, consider leaving an itch donation or purchasing a two-sided keychain of Nik/Chronos from my Kofi shop!

Thank you so much for reading and, even more so, for following and supporting my work! If you want to keep up with what we do, following here on Itch, Bluesky, and even me on Twitch are the best ways to do so!

I have a lot of wonderful stories to share in 2025 and beyond, and I look forward to sharing everything I can with you!  I'll talk to you again in April!
